Hydrocarbon Recovery

Recuperación de Hidrocarburos

We recover the crude trapped in sludge, tanks, pits, pools and channels, return it to you at commercial quality and manage the remaining water and solids.

We combine two technologies, centrifugation and thermal recovery, with the field equipment to heat, pump and store. We deploy mobile or fixed plants in any region of Venezuela, for projects of any scale.

Three-phase centrifugation

Delivered by: Grupo Ecológico Fátima

  • Assessment and testing: source inventory with aerial survey, sampling, characterization and treatability testing. You know how much crude there is and how much can be recovered before investing.
  • Mobile campaign: a unit on a tank, a pit or a channel, for as long as the liability lasts.
  • Dedicated plant with operation and maintenance: fixed plant for large tank farms and terminals, with financing options structured by the group.
  • Tank cleaning: storage tank bottoms, diesel and fuel oil tanks at thermal plants, API (gravity) separators and stabilization ponds.

Process
High-speed three-phase centrifugation: separates crude, water and solids from emulsified sludge in a single step

Thermal recovery of crude from pits, channels and tanks

Crude that sits for years in a pit, a channel or a tank bottom solidifies and forms emulsions that cannot be moved by conventional means. We apply heat in a controlled way, lower its viscosity until it can be pumped, extract it and return it to the production chain.

  • Legacy oil-impacted pits, channels, drains and tank bottoms.
  • Steam from automated generators, extraction with screw pump and vacuum, storage in frac tanks.
  • Reference capacity: up to 1,500 barrels per day.

Steam injection and boiler rental

100% automated OTSG (once-through steam generator) units, with equipment, operation and mobilization coordinated from Zulia.

  • Heating of tanks and tank farms so heavy crude flows and can be pumped, transferred and dispatched.
  • Heating of pump seals and discharge lines during vessel loading.
  • Wells: cyclic injection (huff & puff), continuous injection (flooding) and SAGD (steam-assisted gravity drainage).

Crude oil pumping

Extraction and transfer of heavy crude with a hydraulic screw pump: up to 1,500 barrels per day, 15,000 PSI (pounds per square inch) power unit, variable pressure from 0 to 10,000 PSI, skimmer-plate suction and 6-inch hose discharge. It captures the surface skim (light crude on top of the pit) without emulsifying the crude.

Integrated operation

The services work together.

In a pit or a tank farm the services work together: steam heats, the pump and vacuum extract, the frac tanks store, the plant separates, the water is treated and the waste is disposed of with a manifest. The crude goes back to the client and the liability is closed.
